Ahoy, landlubbers! Calgary might not be right at the ocean’s shores, but we still have some excellent options when it comes to seafood.

Here are five must-try seafood restaurants in Calgary.

Big Fish

Big Fish took a star turn on TV’s You Gotta Eat Here, and we may as well do as they tell us. Featuring ethically-sourced OceanWise fresh seafood, the Big Fish menu includes House Maple Smoked Salmon, Baked Oysters, and BC Mussels, and more.

Address: 1112 Edmonton Trail NE

Catch & the Oyster Bar

Catch is an award-winning modern seafood restaurant in downtown Calgary. Head there for a splurge-y meal of beautiful seafood dishes from their restrained menu that covers the raw to the cooked.

Pelican Pier Seafood Restaurant

This family-run seafood spot has the look and feel of a pier (we’ve got a movie set designer to thank for that) has casual seafood fare suitable for the whole family. Lots of fried seafood on their menu, from fish and chips to popcorn shrimp and calamari–but they’ve also got chowders, salads, and a grilled section to choose from.

Address: 4404 14th Street NW
Phone: 403-289-6100

Rodney’s Oyster House

The Calgary outpost of Rodney’s Oyster House does what its sister restaurants in Vancouver and Toronto do: Serve great seafood, especially oysters. Hit them up for fresh shucks by the dozen, or their signature chowder, and their menu of great seafood dishes.

Address: 355 10th Avenue SW
Phone: 403-460-0026

Oceana Seafood, Steakhouse & Bar

Situated in Eau Claire along the Bow River, Oceana now offers Prince’s Island Park views along with their seafood meals. Their menu has a Greek twist, though they offer straightforward seafood options, like King Crab, bouillabase, chowder, fish and chips, and much more. You can also order a $35 three-course dinner feature.

Address: 101-7th Street SW
